Associates of the chair participate in the 3rd International Week in Zaragoza
Stephan Furhmann and Michael Graßmann, both associates at the chair of business management, esp. management accounting, and control, attended the “3rd International Week” hosted by the faculty for economics at the University of Zaragoza in Spain from 01st of April until the 5th of April. In total, 30 researchers from all over Europa participated in this event, which is fully supported by the Erasmus+ program as part of the lecturer`s mobility program.
In Zaragoza, our associates taught two courses for 2,5 hours each. The first course “Introduction to empirical research projects – Experiences from a research project on Integrated Reporting” focused on the conception of a research project and taught valuable experience gained by the two associates. This course aims for students, who are about to begin their master thesis and provides insights in structuring a thesis. The second course "Credibility of voluntary disclosures – The case of Integrated Reporting" dealt with the basics of voluntary disclosure and its audit. Moreover, the students were given a case study, which consists of two voluntary disclosure statements. The students examined and discussed these two statements together with the two lecturers. The two courses are part of the regular curriculum of the university in Zaragoza. Therefore, we would like to thank Prof. José Javier García Lacalle, Ana José Bellostas Perezgrueso and Pablo Gómez Muñoz who made it possible that the courses are integrated into the curriculum.
Furthermore, Michael Graßmann presented his current research project as a part of the Brown Bag Seminar at the University of Zaragoza.
For the interested students, our associates also presented an introduction of the business faculty in Dresden and talked about living and studying at the TU Dresden. A sightseeing tour and a visit of the city palace, the Aljafería, were part of the official program.
For our associates, the possibility to teach in Spain was overly exciting and they would fully recommend engaging in this kind of international exchange. We would, therefore, recommend the Erasmus + program to interested employees of the business faculty at TU Dresden.
Finally, Stephan Fuhrmann and Michael Graßmann thank the local organizers for a highly successful week and would further thank Uta Schwarz for her support in the preparation of the material for the presentation of the faculty.
