The Chair introduces itself
Scarce ecological resources have become increasingly relevant in decision-making. The Chair of Sustainability Management and Environmental Accounting was established in order to integrate environmental issues into teaching and business research at TU Dresden. Our research projects focus on both the economic and the ecological optimisation of organisations.
The Chair
In its research, the Chair of Sustainability Management and Environmental Accounting deals, above all, with increasing ecological scarcities and their growing importance for economic parameters. It examines the effectiveness of decision-making instruments for the economical-ecological optimisation in operational decision making processes, circumstances for private business and public institutions, as well as the connection between goals concerning a sustainable development and environmental management and accounting. In teaching, the chair focusses on active learning, meaning that the students are encouraged to participate actively, rather than being taught in a classical lecture format. In order to effectively communicate research findings, results from theoretical and practical research are also included in the lectures.
