Economic Optimization in Municipal Waste Management

The objective of this project was to investigate and analyse the specific problems of municipal waste management in the Free State of Saxony. Inefficiencies in the waste associations of Saxony had to be detected and explanations for obvious discrepancies had to be found. Furthermore, it had to be scientifically proven that criticisms made by third parties concerning alleged inefficiency were unjustified. For this reason, a comprehensive qualitative and quantitative benchmarking was executed, in which all waste associations of Saxony were included.
