The Chair
Information on Teaching
The primary goal of our teaching lies in giving our students not only expertise, but also practical competence. With our courses we therefore aim to provide room for "active learning". Through "active learning" students not only gain expertise in the field, but, based on their active participation, they also gain social and personal competencies as well as interdisciplinary methodological skills. These key qualifications can not be taught in classical "lecture" formats.
Research Focus
The chair's research is focussed on the economical-ecological optimisation in organisations. This is where the three main research areas derive from: environmental performance, value-based management, and sustainable management.
Environmental performance: environmental performance measurement, life cycle assessment, environmental indicators, ecology-oriented controlling, carbon footprint, water footprint.
Value-based management: life cycle costing, activity-based costing, fee costing, scenario planning, decision models, risk management.
Sustainable management: corporate social responsibility, stakeholder analysis, environmental management, sustainable management, adaptability, innovation management, deceleration, barriers.
