Successful Dresden Fellowship application by Dr. Dmitry Payson together with Prof. Dr. Lars Hornuf and Prof. Dr. Matin Tajmar

Dr. Dmitry Payson will join TU Dresden as a Fellow at the beginning of next year to advance joint research projects with Prof. Dr. Lars Hornuf (Chair of Finance and Financial Technology) and Prof. Dr. Martin Tajmar (Chair of Space Systems). Dr. Payson will also help to expand interdisciplinary teaching on space and economics at TUD and participate in further research projects on the space industry. He will also contribute his expertise to the promotion of student space projects. At the same time, he will deepen his own research on space policy, particularly with regard to international cooperation, the role of public-private partnerships and their influence on technological progress in the industry.

Short CV Dmitry Payson
Dmitry Payson has extensive experience in the Russian space industry, including as Director of the Roscosmos Research and Analysis Center. He was also Managing Director of the Research and Innovation Department of Russia's largest bank (Sberbank). His core research areas range from the history of space to structural reforms in the industry and satellite technology. He is co-author of the Oxford Handbook on New Space Economy (expected 2025) and has published numerous papers in high-ranking journals such as Acta Astronautica and Space Policy. In addition, he has been a lecturer at universities such as Moscow State University and currently works at Hebrew University in Jerusalem.

About the Dresden Fellowship Program
The Dresden Fellowship Program focuses on inviting international scientists to conduct joint research and teaching at TU Dresden. Early-career researchers can be funded for between two weeks and six months as Dresden Junior Fellows or established researchers as Dresden Senior Fellows at TU Dresden. With the two program lines, TU Dresden aims to attract scientific talent at senior and early-career level.
