Video: Codi in teaching and research
As part of the Scientific and Practical Work (WPA) module, students at Dresden University of Technology developed an innovative project on the use of robotics in a financial context. In close cooperation with Ostsächsische Sparkasse, the humanoid robot Codi was used to simulate real-life advisory scenarios in a Dresden branch. The aim was to address current issues of digital transformation in the financial sector in a practical way and combine them with scientific methods.
The robot was shown how it can interact with customers, answer simple questions and refer to financial products - all based on programmes developed by the students themselves. The application was tested on site to see how it works in practice and how well the developed functions harmonise with real situations in a bank branch. The project is an example of how practice-oriented teaching can be organised at the interface between technology, business and society.
