The Crowdinvesting Symposium in 2024 took place at the Dresden University of Technology / Germany. Researchers in the fields of economics, business administration, innovation, and law presented paper. The workshop provided scholars with the opportunity to present their research on topics related to the various fields of crowdfunding and crowdlending and to get feedback from fellow researchers. As this year’s keynote speaker, we welcomed Professor Andrew A. Schwartz (University of Colorado Boulder). In his keynote speech he discussed his new book Investment Crowdfunding.

In 2019, the topic of the symposium is ”Real Estate Crowdfunding.“ The following research areas will be covered: entrepreneurial finance, reward- based and equity crowdfunding, social trading, personal financial management, robo advice, blockchain, and crypto currencies. This year’s keynote speaker is Prof. Mingfeng Lin, Associate Professor of Information Technology Management at the Scheller College of Business, Georgia Institute of Technology, USA.

2nd Crowdinvesting Symposium 2014
"After Crowdinvesting: follow-up financing, exit strategies and protection against dilution", the Chair for Civil Law and Corporate Law held the second Crowdinvesting Symposium at the LMU Munich on July 4, 2014.
In addition to a scientific conference and a student workshop, the program included a lecture on market developments and regulatory perspectives in Europe by Dr. Lars Hornuf and the keynote lecture "After Crowdinvesting: Second Rounds, Exit Startegies and Dilution Protection" by Professor Armin Schwienbacher. In the subsequent panel discussion with representatives of a crowd investing platform, a law firm, a VC investor and a start-up, the current developments in relation to follow-up financing, exit strategies and protection against dilution in crowd investing were discussed.

1st Crowdinvesting Symposium 2013
"Market development and regulatory perspectives", the Chair for Civil Law and Corporate Law and the Contact Point for Research and Technology Transfer (KFT) at the LMU organized the first crowd investing symposium on February 8, 2013 at the LMU. The program included two lectures by LMU experts Prof. Dr. Lars Klöhn and Dr. Lars Hornuf, who gave an overview of market development and the legal situation as well as regulatory perspectives. In the subsequent panel discussion with operators of crowd investing platforms and representatives from the start-up and venture capital sectors, the advantages and disadvantages of the new form of financing for start-up companies were considered, among other things. The aim of the organizers was to promote the exchange of knowledge and experience between research and practice in order to get a more precise picture of the rapidly growing market for crowd investing.
