Teilnahme am International Congress on Industrial and Applied Mathematics (ICIAM 2015) in Peking, China
Abstract des Minisymposiums:
The coordination of decisions in supply chains is a popular topic in operations research, whose complexity arises from the individual objectives of the different companies involved on the one hand, but also from interdependencies between their strategies on the other hand. These characteristics turn game theory into an appropriate solution approach, as it allows analyzing the strategic decision-making of individuals under different frameworks like, for instance, power imbalance within the supply chain. This symposium shall be dedicated especially to the game-theoretic analysis of marketing decisions, which are used to influence consumer demand including, but not limited to pricing and advertising.
Abstract des Vortrags:
This talk shall give an overview on the application of game-theoretic models to analyze the behavior of supply chain members. As decisions in supply chains are highly interdependent and often impact the profit of the remaining echelons, game theory has proven to be an adequate instrument to determine the companies’ best strategies. Special focus will be given to decision related to marketing like pricing, advertising, etc., as these activities are used to influence consumer demand.
