Students learn:
- to employ scientific methods in order to independently identify organizational problems, to understand them and place them in the general managerial context of enterprises,
- to recognize and use the potential of scientific approaches in order to solve practical problems,
- to evaluate effects of organizational measures and
- to deal with new approaches of our subject.
For this purpose, our courses review different theoretical approaches and empirical results of organizational and management research in order to visualize their practical guiding functions. The imparted professional knowledge provides instruments for the management of practical problems. Moreover, it is demonstrated that knowledge on organizational problems and possible solutions depend upon methods. Different methods can bring forth different knowledge bases of the subject of organization thus influencing practical actions.
Our courses include lectures, tutorials with case studies to deepen lecture material, simulation games and seminars that aim at the independent, conceptual and/or empirical tackling and joint discussions of organizational problems. We also offer presentations held by practitioners and external lecturers.
