EE2 at the International Conference on Operations Research 2026 in Passau

The International Conference on Operations Research (OR 2026) took place in Passau, Germany, from September 1st to 4th, 2026. Hosted by the German Operations Research Society (GOR). The Chair of Energy Economics was represented in several sessions within the conference stream “Energy and Sustainability”. 

Akshay Singh Yadav presented his research entitled “Generation and Transmission Expansion under Aspects of Cooperation: Insights from Offshore Wind Integration in Baltic Region.” The presentation examined how cooperation can influence generation and transmission expansion planning, with a particular focus on the integration of offshore wind in the Baltic region.

A second contribution was made by Hannes Hobbie with the presentation “RFNBO Meets §13k: The Hidden Trade-off in Green Hydrogen Policy and its Effect on Offshore Wind Integration.” Their work discussed the interaction between regulatory requirements for green hydrogen and offshore wind integration, highlighting potential trade-offs arising from current policy frameworks.

In addition, Prof. Dominik Möst chaired the session “Energy and Sustainability: Energy investments, peak power & storage”. Participation in OR 2026 offered valuable opportunities for scientific exchange with the international operations research community and provided a forum to discuss current research at the interface of energy economics, optimization, infrastructure planning, and energy policy.
