GeNeMe Pre-Conference 2023: Augmented Collaboration in Trans-European Communities
The GeNeMe Pre-Conference 2023 featured a community workshop titled "Augmented Collaboration in Trans-European Communities," which delved into discussions on collaboration between Erasmus+ project partners within a social virtual reality environment known as Tricat Spaces.
The workshop included panel speakers from COWEB and SMART projects, focusing on the Western Balkans region, particularly the challenges and opportunities for building up trans-European Higher education communities further, the workshop aimed to foster synergies between the two projects regarding joint activities and publications.
The workshop addressed key topics, including the sustainable design of trans-European communities, novel inter- and cross-cultural cooperation approaches, and the technical and didactical prerequisites crucial for success in online communities. The overarching goal was to enhance the exposure and inclusion of students and academic staff in international learning and research endeavors through hybrid mobility approaches in the Western Balkan area.
Furthermore, this event served as the official launch for the online training component of the SMART project and marked the beginning of the COWEB project's Virtual Collaborative Learning modules, which project partners will independently conduct.
The workshop culminated with an interactive wrap-up session, where participants could engage with the panel speakers, providing valuable feedback and suggesting ideas for future developments. The discussion was recorded and available online to ensure broader dissemination and outreach.
