60 minutes | Online discussion - 09.06.2026 Tax reforms: Options and challenges

In the 60-minute online discussion on the topic of "Tax reforms: Options and Challenges" with Stefan Bach (DIW) and Dominika Langenmayr (Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt), moderated by Christian Leßmann (Chair of Economics, esp. International Economic Relations), we take a look at the current debate on reforming the German tax system. Among other things, we will discuss whether a simplification of income tax through flat rates is possible, to what extent a different income tax rate could influence the supply of labor and what effects - in view of wealth inequality - a reform of inheritance tax or the introduction of wealth tax would have.
