The workshop on "Energy and Sustainability at TU Dresden" took place on May 30, 2024 with the aim of advancing the linking of the energy research strategy with the sustainability strategy and the future development of an Emerging Field "Energy Systems". The Chair of Business Administration, esp. Energy Economics was also present as a participant in the workshop with Prof. Dr. Möst, Dr. Hobbie and Dr. Happach and contributed technical input at the thematic tables.
Organized and accompanied by Dr.-Ing. Nicolle Seifert (Project Scout School of Engineering Sciences) and Dr.-Ing. Anja Blüher (Research management in ING), there was an intensive exchange between the moderating members of the Vice-Rectorate at the topic tables 1. strategy with regard to campus, mobility and sustainability, 2. strategy with regard to energy research and 3. teaching strategies, interdisciplinarity and Master's programmes Frau Prof. Angela Rösen-Wolff - Vice-Rector Research, Prof. Roswitha Böhm - Vice-Rector University Culture and, standing in for the Vice-Rector Academic Affairs, Prof. Michael Kobel, Henriette Greulich (ZILL) and Corinna Zimmermann (Teaching Strategy), academics and students. This allowed a wide range of perspectives and opinions to be gathered on the topics of excellent energy research, modern teaching formats and content with the cross-cutting themes of sustainability, internationalization and interdisciplinarity. All participants attached great importance to transparent and comprehensible communication for the visibility of these topics. As a result, the common goal was formulated to identify and network intersections and existing competencies of different areas of TUD in order to make an excellent contribution to the global Sustainable Goals (SDGs) through the further development of sustainable teaching and energy research at TU Dresden.
A follow-up is to take place in 2024. The organizers are once again hoping for numerous participants for innovative contributions and discussions. The previous contributions will be evaluated and analyzed for the planning of the next workshop. As soon as the final concept is available, the participants will be informed and invited. The group of participants will also be opened up to other people.
The Chair of Business Administration, esp. Energy Economics would like to thank you for the exchange of ideas at the topic tables and the opportunity to continue networking in energy research at TU Dresden!
