Targets

The importance of the TUD as a regionally anchored and globally active university is to be further strengthened and excellent research is to be supported in dealing with forward-looking issues. The transfer of scientific expertise to external partners from business and industry makes a decisive contribution to solving far-reaching problems.

Tasks

The Vice-Rectorate shapes the scientific environment with excellence as the benchmark - early career researchers and interdisciplinary research alliances are specially funded for this purpose. Novel technologies and cross-structural developments at TU Dresden also form an innovative ecosystem for profitable collaborations with a wide range of industrial partners.

Values

Research serves to increase knowledge. It is oriented towards the common good, sustainable and subject to ethical requirements. With the support of the Vice-Rectorate, TUD research projects, their transfer services, start-up funding and cooperation with industry should be based on this responsible foundation.

Role

The Vice-Rector Research and Technology Transfer is responsible for research funding and early career support, as well as scientific and economic developments in cooperation with external partners at TUD. In close cooperation with her team, the staff of Directorate 5 – Research and the Excellence Center for Innovation, Transfer and Entrepreneurship (TUD|excite), the Vice-Rector is dedicated to these tasks.
