Are you currently studying in one of our degree programs and can imagine continuing to work at the university after completing your studies? With our information event we would like to arouse your interest in a doctorate (and the often associated work as a research assistant) at the faculty.
When?
The next information event will take place in winter semester 2024/25.
What is it about?
Professors and doctoral candidates from Business Administration, Economics and Business Information Systems would like to clarify the following questions with you:
- What are the reasons for doing a doctorate after graduation?
- How does a doctorate work and what formalities do I have to observe?
- What expectations are associated with a doctorate and what challenges will I face?

Mailing Lists
Mailing List for external doctoral students
If you are doing an external doctorate, i.e. financed by a scholarship or have a position in industry, you should subscribe to our mailing list right at the beginning. This is the only way to ensure that you do not miss any information that the Dean's Office regarding sends out about courses, award announcements etc.
You can subscribe to the mailing list even if you have not yet been accepted as a doctoral student at the faculty. Academic staff members of the faculty will be contacted via the Mittelbau mailing list and therefore do not need to be included in the mailing list for external doctoral students (otherwise they will receive e-mails twice).
Mailing List VWL-Seminar
All doctoral candidates and postdocs of Economics (internal + external) should subscribe to the mailing list VWL-Seminar. Via the mailing list you will regularly receive information about dates in the Brown Bag Seminars and Colloquium as well as about events outside the TU Dresden.
Guides for Doctoral Studies
The Guide for Doctoral Studies is an orientation guide written by (former) doctoral students for current doctoral students. It is primarily intended to support you in your search for relevant information.
