New Publication in Electronic Markets: Digital Transformation and Responsibility in Public Health Agencies
Digital transformation in public health agencies is progressing steadily. Maturity models, funding programs, and new digital infrastructures are structuring and guiding this process. Alongside technical and organizational challenges, another dimension is gaining importance: How can digitalization in public health be shaped responsibly?
In a recent publication in the journal Electronic Markets, we examine how principles of Digital Responsibility are reflected in digital maturity assessments within the public health context. The objective of the study is to analyze which normative and conceptual dimensions are considered in existing evaluation approaches and how responsibility can be systematically integrated into digital transformation processes.
By connecting Digital Responsibility research with an established maturity model for public health agencies, the study provides a conceptual contribution to the further development of digital assessment and governance instruments in the public health sector. Digital transformation is thus understood not only as a modernization effort, but also as a question of governance, institutional responsibility, and normative orientation.
The findings contribute to a more holistic and conceptually grounded understanding of digital transformation in public health. The full publication is available here.
