After studying Business Information Systems I continued at TU Dresden as a research assistent. In 2017 I graduated summa cum laude at Dresden University of Technology, Department of Business and Economics. The title of Dissertation is: "Using Secondary Notation to Influence the Model User's Attention"
Research interests:
I am interested in researching information systems from the perspective of psychology including human cognition and human behaviour.
In the area of human cognition, we aim to assess the reading strategies of novice and expert users in business process models (Project: ReadPro). Building on these reading strategies, we further aim to find visual cues for business process models that help novice readers to better understand these models (Project: VisPro).
In the area of human behaviour, we are particularly interested in breaking down complex behaviour changes into small habits. Promoting habits instead helps to render behaviour changes manageable. For example, being confronted with implementing 10.000 steps a day is challenging. Implementing many small walking habits throughout the day (e.g., get off the bus to work one stop earlier and walk) may contribute to reaching complex behaviour changes lastingly. Yet, implementing and strengthening habits requires persistence. Such persistence can be fostered using digital strategies for implementing and strengthening habits.
Another research area I am interested in comprises IT evolution. In this area, we assess evolutionary steps that comprise the evolution of IT artefacts based on evolutionary biology. Based on these evolutionary steps we aim to help researchers to define their contribution within larger evolutionary settings. Furthermore, we aim to assess which ITA charachteristics is primarily influenced by individual evolutionary steps.
