Rebecca Scheel’s interest in evidence-based digital health solutions grew with her diploma thesis on developing a digital intervention for obesity therapy and has continued into her PhD work with the MiHUB (Medical Informatics Hub) project. MiHUB takes a patient-centered approach, building a modular infrastructure that allows health data to be securely shared and used across institutions, aiming to bridge clinical care and research with scalable solutions. Her work focuses on prevention and cancer screening, collaborative cancer treatment, and follow-up care, including the design, evaluation, and integration of digital care processes into everyday clinical practice.
She is also interested in the psychological aspects of health, such as eating disorders, with a focus on designing digital tools that support behavior change, motivation, and patient self-management, and evaluating their effectiveness in real-world clinical settings.
