Paper presentation at the Internationalen Tagung Wirtschaftsinformatik 2024 in Würzburg
This year's Internationale Tagung Wirtschaftsinformatik took place in Würzburg from September 16 to 19 under the motto “Automating the World: Information Systems in the Age of AI”. The Internationale Tagung Wirtschaftsinformatik is the most important conference for information systems research in the German-speaking world. As part of the event, Eric Börner was given the opportunity to present his publication to a national and international audience.
The publication entitled “Unlocking Value: Towards a Comprehensive Taxonomy for Commercializing Open Data in the Business Context” deals with the question of how open data can be used by companies to create value. The publication develops a taxonomy for the commercial use of open data, identifying five types of companies as users of open data. The publication was developed as part of the “Modellprojekt Smart Cities” (MPSC) Dresden, which is funded by KfW and the Federal Ministry for Housing, Urban Development and Building.
In addition to presenting the paper, the TU Dresden MPSC team, represented by Katja Bley, Eric Börner, and Susanne Strahringer, contributed to the moderation of sessions and the discussion of papers presented there as part of the “Smart Cities & Digital Government” track and deepened networking with other smart city researchers.
