Review of 3 exciting workshop days in Kemmern
Like last year, this year's summer retreat was an event filled with many exciting moments.
The chairs of Prof. Susanne Strahringer, Prof. Martin Wiener and Jun. Prof. Karoline Glaser from TU Dresden, met with the chairs of Prof. Alexander Benlian from TU Darmstadt and Prof. Martin Adam from Georg-August-Universität Göttingen in Kemmern near Bamberg for a three-day research retreat.
Prof. W. Alec Cram from the University of Waterloo in Canada took part in the retreat as an international guest. The doctoral students presented their current research projects in numerous sessions and were able to gain valuable input in lively discussion rounds. A particular highlight were the paper development sessions, in which current paper manuscripts were discussed in depth by participants in order to refine and further develop them. We rounded off the exciting discussions with a canoe trip on the River Main: It was all about team spirit and coordination - exactly what it takes to write successful publications as a team.
On both evenings, we explored the local Franconian cuisine and rounded off the days in beautiful Bamberg.
We would like to thank all participants and are already looking forward to next year's summer retreat.
