Research Exchange with Stellenbosch University Strengthens International Collaboration
Research Group Led by Dr. Lisa Martin
On June 24, 2026, the “Communities in Virtual Learning Spaces” research group at CIDS Department CODIP welcomed Dr. Lisa Martin from Stellenbosch University, South Africa, for a joint research exchange.
Dr. Martin is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Information Science at Stellenbosch University. During her research visit to TU Dresden, she exchanged ideas with researchers in the group on current developments at the intersection of artificial intelligence, digital humanities, and the societal impacts of technological change. The focus was on potential areas of collaboration for future joint research and teaching activities.
TU Dresden has a long-standing tradition of academic exchange with Stellenbosch University. In recent years, researchers from both universities have undertaken several research stays at the respective partner institution. The current visit was initiated following a research stay by Thomas Richter at Stellenbosch University in spring 2026, creating further opportunities for future academic collaboration.
The research stay was supported by the ERASMUS+ programme and the TU Dresden International Office.
