Digitalization - Connecting Element and Intersection
Digital technologies increasingly shape how research is conducted, knowledge is shared, and innovation emerges. To strategically harness these opportunities and promote interdisciplinary collaboration, TU Dresden established the Center for Interdisciplinary Digital Sciences (CIDS).
CIDS brings together expertise in High Performance Computing (HPC), Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Cloud and Edge technologies. It provides a framework where researchers from diverse disciplines jointly develop solutions for the complex challenges of digital transformation – from fundamental research to applied innovation.
An overview of the CIDS Departments, which form the thematic and organizational backbone of the center, is available here: https://tu-dresden.de/cids/departments
Through this structure, TU Dresden strengthens its role as an open, interconnected research university that understands digitalization not merely as a tool, but as a cross-cutting scientific theme – building bridges between disciplines, methods, and people.
