Spinoffs and Industry Partners
Industry Partners
By customized collaborations with industry partners, we can pass on the successes in basic research and technology development in a targeted manner, thereby improving our partners' research and development capacities as well as product development.
Spinoffs
Spinoffs co-founded by BIOTEC groupleaders:
PharmAI
Artificial intelligence (AI) and drug discovery come together. PharmAI was funded in 2019 around its AI-based DiscoveryEngine software. The technology will expedite time needed for finding new therapeutic molecules and their potential side effects.

Transinsight GmbH
Established: 2005
Initiator: Prof. Michael Schroeder
Transinsight develops novel semantic algorithms, state-of-the art natural language processing, and ontologies to provide better and faster search capabilities for complex queries. The solutions Transinsight is offering expands the current paradigm of keyword search and give new possibilities to explore the space of information. One flagship products is www.Go3R.org and www.GoPubMed.com, as renowned biomedical search engines, are the first knowledge-based search systems of the next generation for the Life Sciences on the internet.
Transinsight has repeatedly been honoured with international awards i.e. the reddot design award best of the best 2009 and the German Industry Prize 2010.
nAmbition GmbH
Established: 2004
Initiator: Prof. Daniel Müller
The nAmbition GmbH is an interdisciplinary team of bio-nano-technologists focusing on the development of new applications in the field of nanoscopic and molecular analytics. The new technologies provide results in a more reproducible and automated way. This automating is a basic condition for a broad and therewith commercially interesting application of measurement technology. At the end of 2007 nAmbition was acquired by the Berlin-based “JPK Instruments AG”.
