Internship
Cooperation with schools
Since 2012, the CRTD has maintained a cooperation with the Martin-Andersen-Nexö-Gymnasium Dresden (MANOS). The CRTD complements the offer of the specialized secondary school in Dresden with current research in modern life sciences. MANOS is located in the neighborhood of the CRTD and promotes students talented in mathematics and science with advanced lessons and projects.
Internship and BELL
Scientists from the CRTD supervise projects in biomedicine and life sciences within the framework of “Besondere Lernleistungen” (BELL). Additionally, the students are given the opportunity to complete an internship in one of our research groups.
"Science goes to school" Project
In 2009 young international scientists from numerous biomedical and life science research institutes in Dresden have initiated the school project Science goes to School!. The PhD students of the Dresden International PhD Program (DIPP) from the biology and bioengineering areas go to schools and offer workshops. They engage grade 8-12 students in little scientific experiments conducted in English language. In such a way, they teach the importance of the English language and tolerance in science.
Science goes to School! was given one of the Saxon Integration Awards in 2011. In January 2013 it was named an academic peal (‘Hochschulperle’) by the ‘Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft’ for being an innovative exemplary project in an academic setting.
Teachers can get information about the school project bookings here.
Have we sparked your interest? Then immerse yourself in the world of research with us!
- Find out more about the professions of scientist, biology laboratory technician and medical-technical employee! An internship or the implementation of a BeLL at the CRTD offers an excellent opportunity to gain insights into the world of work in an international, English-speaking research center.
- If you are interested, please learn about the research areas of the individual groups on the CRTD homepage and contact directly the group leader of a research group that is most appropriate for the topic of your interest.
- Please note: It will not always be possible to fully meet this request. The reason is not because we don't like having students around, but it can sometimes be difficult to integrate students into an ongoing research project.
- In general, we offer a company internship program for small groups of pupils in grades 7 to 11. During a period of 1-2 weeks, you will get to know tasks and activities in various departments of our facility.
Since the working language at the CRTD is English, we ask that you submit your request / application in English.
Due to the measures to protect against infection, only a correspondingly adapted offer will be possible in 2021, i.e. we will not be able to receive any student groups at the CRTD in the near future. You will be able to find more detailed information in advance on this page.
