How fish can repair their retina: »At work with ...« Laura Celotto from the CRTD
Millions of people worldwide suffer from diseases affecting the retina. Unlike humans, zebrafish can repair their retina. Laura Celotto, a PhD student at the Center for Regenerative Therapies Dresden (CRTD), wants to find out how this is possible in the fish.
Laura reaveals in our first episode »At work with ...« why zebrafish are not so dissimilar to us humans and why the neurobiologist most often works with a pipette. She is enrolled in Dresden International Graduate School for Biomedicine and Bioengineering (DIGS-BB) since 2018. She is part of Prof. Dr. Michael Brand group (CRTD), where international scientists study development and regeneration using zebrafish as a model organism.
In this video reportage series »At work with ...«, we accompany employees of TU Dresden or our partner institutions for one day. With this we would like to give you an insight into the diverse fields of work and tasks at TU Dresden and show you: Behind everything that distinguishes us there are people who do their job with passion and dedication!
