Mission

Research at the Center for Regenerative Therapies Dresden (CRTD) focuses on discovering principles of cell and tissue regeneration, and leveraging this for recognition, treatment, and reversal of diseases.

Research Groups

Our basic research is focused on elucidating the mechanisms underlying the emergence of tissues from embryonic progenitors in a variety of systems, including the central nervous system and the retina, the haematopoietic system, the pancreas and bone.

Technology Platform

The technology platform has several core facilities that provide access to state-of-the-art research equipment and offer specialized services based on the expertise of the CMCB research groups. This service requires intensive training of staff and major investment into maintenance and replacement of equipment.

Welcome to CRTD

Research at the Center for Regenerative Therapies Dresden (CRTD) at TUD Dresden University of Technology focuses on discovering principles of cell and tissue regeneration, and leveraging this for recognition, treatment, and reversal of diseases. The CRTD is well positioned for this challenge with its diversity in model organisms, organs, and disease systems and its range of methodological approaches from basic research to validation projects and clinical studies. The CRTD links the bench to the clinic, and scientists to clinicians to bring expertise in stem cells, gene-editing, and regeneration towards innovative therapies for metabolic, osteo-hematological, and neurological diseases.
