Girls' Day 2019
Fascinating Zebrafish - a Master of Regeneration: During this year's Girls' Day at the Center for Regenerative Therapies Dresden (CRTD), around 20 participating girls investigated this extremely interesting animal. The girls examined the developmental stages of the zebrafish from egg to adult under the microscope. Together with CRTD scientists, they conducted experiments, examined various samples and took fascinating microscope images with their smartphones.
Besides this great lab experience, the girls toured the CRTD with special focus on its zebrafish facility. They learned about typical science-related jobs such as Lab Technician, Post Doc and Research Group Leader – all presented by female CRTD employees. Another focus of this year's Girls' Day were the study opportunities at TU Dresden and its Center for Molecular and Cellular Bioengineering (CMCB), featuring the Master's courses (M.Sc.) Molecular Bioengineering, Nanobiophysics and Regenerative Biology and Medicine.
