RESTRUCTURING THE CENTRAL SCIENTIFIC FACILITY
The Media Centre (MZ), which now concentrates exclusively on scientific tasks, reports to the Rectorate as the Central Scientific Institution and from now on to the Prorector for Research. Its main tasks include the execution of excellent and trend-setting scientific work and research in the field of digital teaching and digital learning as well as digitisation in research. The MZ develops digital research infrastructures (e.g. virtual laboratory and open science technologies) in order to provide research groups and lecturers with a forward-looking technological basis for their individual and collaborative scientific teaching and research activities and to constantly reflect on and further the development of these.
In addition, the MZ actively and systematically promotes young national and international scientists by continuing the structured graduate program "Education & Technology" established at the TU Dresden and further developing it with the departments, faculties and graduate academy of the TU Dresden as well as DRESDEN-concept. In addition, the MZ promotes the transfer of basic research results into teaching and practice-oriented applications both externally and within the TU Dresden. The MZ examines applications for the award of the Multimediafonds.
