M. O. Ramadhan with host supervisor Prof. Dr. Thomas Köhler
The Center for Open Digital Innovation and Participation (CODIP), TU Dresden, recently hosted Mr. M. Oka Ramadhan, a doctoral researcher in Technical and Vocational Education from Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), under the International Publication Quality Improvement Program (PKPI–PMDSU) funded by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. He undertook a five-month research stay from November 2025 to March 2026 at TU Dresden under the academic supervision of Prof. Dr. Thomas Köhler at the Institute of Vocational Education and Vocational Didactics and CODIP.
His doctoral research focuses on the development of an AI-prompting framework for the green pedagogy of vocational teachers, aimed at strengthening green skills across emerging green jobs. During the research stay, a major focus was the further development of the GREEN Framework, a digital learning media framework designed to support green-skills-oriented instruction in vocational education, particularly in the Indonesian context.

Throughout the stay, Mr. Ramadhan actively engaged in CODIP’s academic ecosystem through doctoral colloquia, research discussions, workshops, and the Winter School on Research Training in Technical and Vocational Education and Training for Postgraduates.
His participation also extended to international dissemination and networking activities, including the OEB Global Conference in Berlin and collaborative discussions within the ProVEST network.

A major outcome of the research stay was the successful submission of two manuscripts to internationally reputable journals, currently under review, focusing on the development and validation of digital learning frameworks for green-skills-oriented instruction. In parallel, the stay also supported the refinement of research instruments and methodological preparation for the next phase of empirical data collection upon his return to Indonesia.

The collaboration was further strengthened in December 2025 through the PKP–PMDSU academic visit of Prof. Dr. Dedi Rohendi, Mr. Ramadhan’s main supervisor from UPI. The visit enabled intensive supervision meetings, research refinement, and strategic discussions on future academic cooperation between UPI and TU Dresden.
Reflecting on his experience, Mr. Ramadhan emphasized the importance of international academic exposure in enriching both methodological rigor and research perspectives, particularly through benchmarking European vocational education practices. This exchange marks an important milestone in the ongoing collaboration between TU Dresden and Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, particularly in the fields of TVET, digital learning, green skills attainment, and international doctoral research collaboration.
