Research Exchange with Stellenbosch University Strengthens International Collaboration
Research Group Led by Dr. Lisa Martin
On June 24, 2026, the “Communities in Virtual Learning Spaces” research group at the CODIP (CIDS) Department of the TUD Dresden University of Technology welcomed Dr. Lisa Martin from Stellenbosch University (South Africa) for a joint research exchange.
Dr. Martin is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Information Science at Stellenbosch University. During her research visit to TU Dresden, she exchanged ideas with researchers in the group on current developments at the intersection of artificial intelligence, digital humanities, and the societal impacts of technological change. The focus was on potential areas of collaboration for future joint research and teaching activities.
The visit builds on the long-standing academic exchange between TU Dresden and Stellenbosch University. Mutual research visits have already taken place in recent years, continuously facilitating new collaborations between the two universities. The current exchange was initiated during a research visit by Thomas Richter to Stellenbosch University in the spring of 2026.
The research group would like to express its sincere thanks to Stellenbosch University, the International Office at TU Dresden, and all those involved for their support in organizing the visit.
Special thanks also go to the ERASMUS+ program as the funding body, which made this academic exchange possible.
We look forward to continuing the dialogue we have begun and to jointly developing further international research and teaching projects between TU Dresden and Stellenbosch University.
