Kraft-Copilot interviewed at the PartWiss conference
Interviewed at the PartWiss conference
At this year's PartWiss conference, the Kraft-Copilot project team presented selected parts of the exhibition “Invisible Heroes: Between Everyday Life and Care.” This was accompanied by an interview with eaf-sachsen.
The conversation was part of the program „Wer kümmert sich? Pflegende Angehörige und Young Carers in Sachsen“ as part of „Familienfragen – Das crossmediale Familienmagazin für Sachsen“. The focus was on the situation of family caregivers in the Free State: In Saxony, 363,000 people are considered to be in need of care. Over 310,000 of them are cared for at home in their familiar surroundings – made possible by the daily commitment of around 450,000 family caregivers.
The interview focused on Kraft-Copilot's project work, the goals of the exhibition, and its significance for visibility and social awareness. The exhibition focuses on young adults who, in addition to their training, studies, or careers, take on caregiving responsibilities for loved ones. Personal photographs and texts provide insights into their everyday lives, their challenges, and their sources of strength.
The exhibition was created using the participatory research method Photovoice. This approach empowers those affected as experts in their own reality. PartWiss provided an opportunity for professional exchange on how genuine participation on an equal footing can be achieved.
The interview also addressed the urgent need to close existing gaps in support for young caregivers and highlighted how projects such as Kraft-Copilot can help in this regard.
