New Research Project IMPACT Launched: Immersive Technologies for Participation, Co-Creation, and Regional Identity

On July 1, 2026, CODIP launches the two-and-a-half-year research project IMPACT – Immersion and Multisensory Experiences for Participatory Activities, Co-Creation, and Social Participation. The project is funded through the BMFTR funding initiative “WIR! – Change through Innovation in the Region” and is carried out in collaboration with Dresden University of Applied Sciences (HTWD) and Mobile Youth Work and Socioculture Association (SKZ Telux) in Weißwasser.

The aim of the joint project is to develop an immersive and multisensory environment that promotes social participation, strengthens regional identity, and fosters intergenerational exchange.

Through its subproject IMPACT_Gerontology and Technology, CODIP is responsible for investigating the relationship between cultural heritage, biographical experiences, and the identity of older adults. To this end, scientific analyses and biographical interviews will be conducted, and practical recommendations for the use of innovative technologies will be developed. In addition, CODIP will evaluate the project's impact on well-being, identity, and social participation.

The project is part of the ZukunfTAlter alliance and contributes to the development of innovative solutions for successful ageing and structural transformation in rural regions. We look forward to contributing our expertise at the intersection of digitalization, participation, and ageing research and to exploring innovative approaches for strengthening social participation and regional development together with our project partners.
