Without high-performance ceramics ... no cars or machines would function today. Ceramic materials are essential for innovations in all high-tech sectors, especially in medical, energy and environmental technology.
Being a professor... together with the management of the Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems is a multifaceted task and a demanding challenge.
Students ... find highly interesting career prospects in the field of technical ceramics. You can see this for yourself in my lectures and internships.
In the future ... the importance of advanced ceramics and the need for well-trained students will continue to grow.
If I could study again ... I would study physics again. You could even become Chancellor if necessary.
Excellence ... is a high standard that has to be constantly reworked.
