New perspectives in bone research: DFG provides funding for CRC/Transregio 369 “DIONE – Bone degeneration caused by inflammation”
Chronic inflammatory diseases are very common and not only impact the affected organs – they can also affect bone health. Inflammatory diseases of the joints, skin or intestines are often accompanied by bone loss and fractures. CRC/Transregio 369 “DIONE – Bone degeneration caused by inflammation” aims to clarify these interrelations. The German Research Foundation (DFG) is funding the project, which is being led by Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (Spokesperson: Professor Aline Bozec) in collaboration with TU Dresden (Spokesperson: Professor Martina Rauner) and Ulm University.
