Regional Erasmus+ Cluster Meeting and Contact-Making Seminar 2026 for Sub-Saharan Africa
The European Commission and its Education and Culture Executive Agency, with the support of the Delegation of the European Union to Senegal, are very pleased to invite you to participate in the 2026 edition of the Regional Erasmus+ Cluster Meeting and Contact-Making Seminar for Sub-Saharan Africa. This important event will take place on 19-20 May 2026 at the Hôtel Fleur de Lys (Point E), Dakar, Senegal and online.
The Cluster Meeting will provide a forum for Erasmus+ project beneficiaries and stakeholders to share knowledge and exchange experiences. In addition, the Contact-Making Seminar will enable online and in-person networking among experienced and newcomer organisations interested in project cooperation, coming from Sub-Saharan Africa, but also from the European Union and other countries associated to the Erasmus+ Programme.
This year’s event will focus on the role of Erasmus+ in developing skills for the future, aligned with the Global Gateway strategy. The programme will feature examples of Erasmus+ projects and panel discussions on how the theme is being addressed through the support of the Erasmus+ programme.
The event will be in hybrid format (in situ in Dakar and web-streaming). Translation will be provided to and from English, French and Portuguese.
The draft agenda for the event is available on the event page. To participate, follow the link under the button “Click here to register” on the same page.
The organisers will provide participants with lunches and refreshments during the event days. All other costs (including travel, accommodation, visas, etc.) must be covered by yourself or the organisation or project you work for. If you are involved in an ongoing Erasmus+ capacity building project, please contact your project coordinator to check the possibility to cover your costs as part of the project budget.
Please also note the below two important points:
Accommodation may be available at the Hôtel Fleur de Lys (Point E) (conference venue) – please book directly through their website.
Check if you need a visa to enter Senegal – you may be exempt, or have to obtain a visa on arrival, or need to obtain a visa before travelling. The website of the Ministry of African Integration and Foreign Affairs in Senegal provides more information on this matter. We recommend that you contact your nearest Senegalese embassy or consulate to check the exact situation for citizens of your country.
Also, check if you need to be vaccinated against Yellow Fever and have to provide proof of vaccination when you arrive in Senegal – you may be refused entry to the country without it. Further health-related recommendations available on the Belgian tropical medicine institute website.
