Final spurt in the last funding year of Horizon 2020
"The starting signal is given: The last calls for proposal in Horizon 2020 are launched“, explains Christian Gerhardts, Head of the European Project Center of the TU Dresden. And he further emphasizes "For the scientists of TU Dresden is this the last opportunity to submit an application for funding from well-filled funding sources by means of well-known support mechanisms."
While preparations for the new framework programme for research and innovation - Horizon Europe (2021-2027) - are already in full swing, Horizon 2020 has a lot to offer with the calls for 2020. The latest Horizon 2020 calls have deadlines (depending on the topic) until October 2020 at the latest, but with most deadlines already ending in January, April and September 2020.
A total of 11 billion euros will be provided in Horizon 2020 for the last year of the funding period for the realization of project ideas.
But what is still possible in Horizon 2020?
In addition to individual calls for proposals (open-topic), e.g. the prestigious ERC Grants or the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions, which aim at the career development and excellence of researchers, there are numerous thematic calls for proposal.
The foci of the latest calls for proposals are e.g. Renewable Energies & Energy Efficiency, Artificial Intelligence, Digitalisation in the areas of Health, Transport and Manufacturing, circular economy, plastics and cybersecurity. All the research profile lines of the TU Dresden are reflected within these calls.
Overview of the open calls for proposals in Horizon 2020: CALL OVERVIEW
"Do not hesitate to contact us if you are interested in the latest calls for proposals or if you are already planning to apply in Horizon 2020. On November 14, 2019, we also offer an intensive workshop on how to apply for Horizon 2020. Few seats are still available in this very popular format. "concludes Christian Gerhardts.
