Fellowships for Ukrainian refugee PhD students and Postdocs
As part of the EU's response to the Russian Federation's invasion of Ukraine, a new fellowship program for displaced researchers "MSCA4Ukraine" has been announced. This support aims to enable displaced researchers to continue their work at academic and non-academic organizations in EU Member States and Horizon Europe associated countries, while maintaining their links to research and innovation communities in Ukraine.
The program will also be able to facilitate the reintegration of researchers into Ukraine if the conditions for their safe return are met. This was intended to counteract the permanent emigration of skilled workers, and it was also intended to help strengthen the Ukrainian university and research sector. The program also aims to strengthen collaboration and exchange with the international research community.
The Taskforce Ukraine and the EPC at the TU Dresden support the applicants and carry out the administrative application.
Applications can be submitted from October 24, 2022. They are continuously checked with monthly deadlines and, if the evaluation is positive, they are awarded the contract as soon as possible.
The next deadline is November 11, 2022. For Applications that are complete by November 7th, 2022 a submission will be ensured by then.
Doctoral students and postdocs with a mentor at the academic or non-academic host institution can be funded. The application must be submitted by the respective host institution together with the mentor and the expelled researcher.
The applications of the TU Dresden are supported by the coordination office WeCare as the first contact and the European Project Center for the application in the Funding and Tenders Portal of the EU.
Expressions of interest can be submitted by researchers as well as mentors in the MSCA4Ukraine portal.

У рамках відповіді ЄС на вторгнення Російської Федерації в Україну було оголошено нову програму стипендій для дослідників-переселенців «MSCA4Ukraine». Ця підтримка спрямована на те, щоб дозволити переміщеним дослідникам продовжувати свою роботу в академічних і неакадемічних організаціях у країнах-членах ЄС і країнах, асоційованих з Horizon Europe, зберігаючи зв’язки з дослідницькими та інноваційними спільнотами в Україні.
Програма також зможе сприяти реінтеграції дослідників в Україну, якщо будуть виконані умови для їхнього безпечного повернення. Це мало протидіяти постійній еміграції кваліфікованих робітників, а також сприяти зміцненню українського університету та дослідницького сектору. Програма також спрямована на посилення співпраці та обміну з міжнародним дослідницьким співтовариством.
Taskforce Ukraine та EPC при TU Dresden підтримують заявників та виконують адміністративну заявку.
Заявки можна подавати з 24 жовтня 2022 року. Їх постійно перевіряють із дотриманням місячних термінів і, якщо оцінка позитивна, вони отримують контракт якнайшвидше.
Наступний термін – 11 листопада 2022 року. Заявки, заповнені до 7 листопада 2022 року, можна подати до цього часу.
Докторанти та постдокторанти з наставником в академічній або неакадемічній приймаючій установі можуть фінансуватися.
Висловлення зацікавленості можуть подавати дослідники, а також ментори на порталі MSCA4Ukraine.
