AGROECOLOGY Partnership announces its Call for 2026!
The AGROECOLOGY Partnership will soon publish its 3rd co-funded call:
"Strengthening plant and animal genetic diversity and empowering farmers to drive the agroecological transition"
The call focuses on two central pillars of the agroecological transition:
- the genetic dimension and
- the social dimension.
Funding is available for research and innovation projects that contribute significantly to one of the following topics:
- Theme 1: Promoting genetic diversity and variability of crops and livestock for agroecological transition
- Theme 2: Strengthening farmer participation, motivation and competencies in the agroecological transition
Theme 1 focuses on the genetic diversity and variability of plants and animals. The aim is to create the basis for greater availability of species, varieties and breeds that support agroecological farming systems.
Theme 2 addresses the social challenges of today's agriculture - in particular the motivation, knowledge and skills of farmers and the role of other stakeholders to promote their engagement in the agroecological transition.
Timeline and funding conditions:
- February 2026 - project outline
- July 2026 - full application
- Funding is available for collaborative projects with at least 3 partners from 3 participating countries

Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain, Turkey, Hungary
