Latest call Erasmus + higher education partnerships and cooperations for 2022
Next to the well-known Erasmus student exchange, the Erasmus+ program offers scientists the opportunity to apply for a wide range of cooperation projects. Depending on the funding line, innovation in teaching and education is promoted in European or worldwide networks.
On 24.11. 2021 a new call was launched (original documents are available here). The individual program lines have different application deadlines between February and March 2022 as shown below.

The program lines and deadlines:
1. Cooperation Partnerships
The focus is on innovative, thematically or regionally oriented measures for network formation as well as flexible measures, which serve to deepen cooperation in terms of content and administration (e.g. development of new modules, digital teaching, automatic recognition of credits, etc.).
- Deadline: March 23rd, 2022
2. Capacity building
Cooperation projects and capacity expansion in multilateral university partnerships between the EU and neighboring European countries, Asia, Latin America and Africa (e.g. modernization of training including the necessary technical equipment, etc.) are funded. One focus of funding are cooperations with universities in Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Deadline: February 17th, 2022
3. Alliances of Innovation
The aim of the funding is the cooperation between training centers (including university and vocational training) and companies in the European network to increase the labor market relevance of education and teaching (e.g. development of internships, practice-oriented modules, measures to develop the entrepreneurship spirit)
- Deadline: September 15th, 2022
4. Teacher Academies
The aim of this program line is to develop European networks for the modernization and internationalization of teacher training.
- Deadline: September 7th, 2022
5. Erasmus Mundus Joint Master
Joint / double degrees are funded in master’s courses in a European network, which, thanks to their uniqueness, attract excellent applicants from Europe and around the world.
- Deadline: February 16th, 2022
6. Erasmus Mundus Design Measures
This funding line serves to support the application phase of Erasmus Mundus Joint Master applications (see above). The aim is to be able to submit an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's application at the end of the funding period of 15 months.
- Deadline: February 16th, 2022
Further actions
7. Jean Monnet Action
The aim is to develop and disseminate EU-related content in teaching and research. This primarily affects the areas of politics, history or law, but also the environment, construction and others. Funding concerns the development of relevant courses and/ or research activities.
