Seed funding for e.g. Horizon Europe applications - new call for proposals 2024!
The SMWK funds preparatory measures ("start-up funding") as part of the application process in a European competitive research funding programme (e.g. Horizon Europe, MSCA, ERC or ERA-Nets/Partnerships) in accordance with Richtlinie EuProNet.
EuProNet applications can be submitted to the Sächsische Aufbaubank (SAB) with immediate effect. Applications can be submitted on an ongoing basis in 2024 as long as sufficient funds are available. Preparatory measures should begin in 2024 and should generally be completed.
The requested start-up funding may not exceed a maximum amount of EUR 10,000 for partners (EUR 7,000 for ERA-Nets/partnerships) and EUR 30,000 for coordinators (EUR 20,000 for ERA-Nets/partnerships).
The prerequisite for funding is a planned or existing call with a fixed call deadline in a European funding programme. A core consortium should already exist when the EuProNet application is submitted.
In accordance with the Richtlinie EuProNet, the following costs are eligible for e.g:
- additional staff to prepare the application,
- costs for networking meetings and
- contract services in connection with the application.
Research projects, equipment or internal project costs cannot be funded.
The EuProNet "start-up/seed funding" is to be regarded as funding for the phase (shortly) before the submission of the application in the European competitive framework programme and ends with the timely submission of the prepared application in the respective call.
