Calling Europe’s innovation leaders to join the EIT Governing Board
On 5th August 2019, the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) launched a call for expressions of interest in ordert o select eight new members of its Governing Board.
Leading academics, business representatives, entrepreneurs, innovators and researchers are encouraged to apply and help drive Europe’s ability to innovate.
The beginning of the term of office of the new members of the Executive Board is expected at the end of June 2020.
The EIT Governing Board consists of 12 European innovation leaders appointed by the European Commission for a four-year mandate. It provides the EIT’s strategic leadership and is independent in its decision-making. Specifically it is responsible for the selection, designation and evaluation of the EIT’s Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs).
In appointing, the Commission will take into account the balance between higher education, research, innovation and business experience, as well as a gender and geographical balance.
The Call of expression of interest for up to eight new members is open now and until 7 October.
