Clean Energy Transition (CET) call 2023 published!
The Clean Energy Transition Partnership (CETPartnership) aims at accelerating the clean energy transition to achieve the goal of climate neutrality by 2050. It is a multilateral and strategic partnership of national and regional research, development and innovation (RDI) funding programmes in EU Member States and Associated Countries, co-funded by the European Commission through Horizon Europe (HE).
The CETPartnership Joint Call 2023 is the second annual co-funded call under the CETPartnership. To cover different topics and RDI approaches, the Call is structured into twelve Call Modules, aimed at different energy technologies and/or systems. The Call Modules address different research-oriented approach (ROA) and innovation-oriented approach (IOA) on different Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs) and are thus complementing and completing each other.
Call Modules:
- CM2023-01: Direct current (DC) technologies for power networks
- CM2023-02: Energy system flexibility: renewables production, storage and system integration
- CM2023-03A/B: Advanced renewable energy technologies for power production
- CM2023-04: Carbon capture, utilisation, and storage (CCUS)
- CM2023-05: Hydrogen and renewable fuels
- CM2023-06: Heating and cooling technologies
- CM2023-07: Geothermal energy technologies
- CM2023-08: Integrated regional energy systems
- CM2023-09: Integrated industrial energy systems
- CM2023-10A/B: Clean energy integration in the built environment

- Participants from Saxon institutions (universities and research institutes) are funded by the SMWK via the Richtlinie EuProNet, Saxon companies via the Richtlinie EFRE/JTF Technology Funding 2021 to 2027.
- Saxony funds all Call Modules.
- In the case of universities, 100% of the project costs are funded (no overhead).
- The SMWK emphasizes the high funding rate of excellent Saxon research applications.

Timeline and eligibility criteria:
- September 13th, 2023- CETPartnership Joint Call 2023 Info Day
- November 22nd, 2023 – pre-proposal submission
- March 27th, 2024 – proposal submission
- funding for joint projects with min three partner from three participating countries
- at least two partners must be EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries
