Dresden joins EU Cities Mission!
Until the end of January 2022, cities in Europe could apply to participate in the European mission "100 climate-neutral and smart cities by 2030". Now the European Commission announced the 100 selected cities that will be actively supported on the way to climate neutrality - and Dresden is among them, along with eight other German cities.
A total of 377 cities from all over Europe applied. In the coming months, the EU Commission will develop a "Climate City Contract" (CCC) with the selected cities, which will serve as the basis for achieving climate neutrality.
Dresden's research organizations have long been involved in the development of sustainable building materials as well as in the further development of new smart city solutions. The TU Dresden is one of the pioneers in the field of sustainability and research into new building materials and technologies, as the CUBE building on Zellescher Weg shows. The TU Dresden will support its city on the way to a climate-neutral, smart and clean city.
