On 23 May 2018, the ERA-Net Smart Energy Systems (ERA-Net SES) announced a new call for proposals for European transnational projects.

The ERA-Net SES 2018 joint call (RegSys – Integrated regional energy systems) is to support Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) initiatives contributing to the development of smart, integrated Local and Regional Energy Systems, and find solutions to efficiently provide, host and utilize high shares of renewable energies. Projects should address solutions within Technology Readiness Level TRL 5-7.

A total of 19 countries and regions in Europe are participating in the RegSys Joint Call co-financed by the European Commission. The total budget has a volume of € 33.3 million. In sum there is 2 Mio € funding available for the German partners.

The project outline (pre-proposal) deadline (mandatory) will end on 11 September 2018. The full proposal deadline will end on 02 November 2018. For the submission of transnational projects at least two participants from two different countries (whereof at least 1 EU member state), participating in the joint call.
