The European Research Council ("ERC") has recently opened the calls for the Starting Grant Call 2026 and Synergy Grant Call 2026.

• ERC Starting Grant for early-career researchers (2-7 years after PhD) with up to €1.5 million over a maximum of 5 years.
  Call budget 2026: € 705 million (approx. 450 funded projects expected.)
  
  Submission deadline: October 14, 2025
• ERC Synergy Grant for teams of two to four promising scientists with up to € 10 million per project for a period of up to 6 years.
  Call budget: € 500 million (approx. 49 funded projects expected).
  
  Submission deadline: November 05, 2025
