The ERC Synergy Grant call 2024 is open!
The ERC („European Research Council”) has opened the ERC Synergy Grant 2024 call on July 12th, 2023.
The grants are directed towards groups of two to maximum four Principal Investigators (PIs) of any nationality and discipline working together and bringing different skills and resources to tackle ambitious research problems that are so ambitious, that they cannot be dealt with by one team alone.
No specific eligibility criteria regarding the academic training are foreseen for ERC Synergy Grants.
Principal Investigators must present either an early achievement track-record or a ten-year track-record that meets the ERC criteria for their respective career stage. Proposals are evaluated on the sole criterion of scientific excellence which takes on the additional meaning of outstanding intrinsic synergetic effect.
The budget can be up to a maximum of 10 million euros for a period of six years (pro rata for projects of shorter duration). For exceptional cases an additional 4 million euros can be requested.
Submission deadline is November 8th 2023, 17:00 (Brussels Time).
