Funding of Scientific and Technological Cooperation (STC) with Ukraine
The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) will fund scientific and technological cooperation (STC) with Ukraine.
Option A: These projects should support the ongoing restructuring of the research environment, science management and technology transfer in Ukraine. The projects should in particular focus on different structural and strategic objectives, e.g. strengthening of cooperation between universities, research organizations and SMEs or joint participation in Horizon 2020.
Option B: These projects should link ongoing R&D activities of project partners. By this pooling of knowledge, experience, research infrastructure and other resources an added value is supped to be generated to all involved partners.
Funding priorities are:
- Preparation of new and strengthening existing project-related or institutional collaborations,
- Conception and planning of projects and collaborations which are supposed to be submitted to specific BMBF or EU funding programmes.
Project proposals with the following focus will be prioritized:
- Biotechnologies,
- Technologies for effective resource and energy use, sustainable environmental technologies,
- Health Research and Medical technology,
- Information-and communication technologies,
- New materials and production technologies.
Projects of category A will be funded with up to EUR 40 000 per project. Projects of category B will be funded with up to EUR 20 000 per project. The project duration should not exceed 24 months.
The funding for universities can cover up to 100 percent of the project-related eligible expenses.
The application process is a two-stage submission process. The deadline for submitting project proposals is 03 June 2016.
