Green ERA-Hub Call 2025 „Sustainable Production and Utilisation of Biomass

The overall objective of the Green ERA-Hub Call 2024 is to advance climate-smart agriculture for climate change adaptation, stress resilience and crop and livestock health, while ensuring the economic sustainability of agriculture.
The overall objectives include the promotion of climate-smart agriculture to adapt to climate change, strengthen resilience to stress factors and improve plant and animal health in the context of the economic sustainability of agriculture. Projects should consider holistic and integrated perspectives. Innovations and practices will be evaluated in terms of the well-being of humans, other living organisms and ecological systems as a whole. The scope includes both organic and conventional agricultural approaches.
Call topics:
- Topic 1: Plant breeding for improved resilience and health of crops, environment and soil
The scope includes projects that focus on temperate, rainfed and irrigated cropping systems. These cropping systems are often characterized by cereal production, especially wheat and barley, grown in rotation with Brassicaceae, grain legumes or other crops.
- Topic 2: Biotechnological approaches to improve biomass utilization
This topic focuses on the research and development of novel, innovative and sustainable biotechnological approaches to improve the utilization of renewable biomass and/or intermediates.
