Horizon 2020 - Key Technologies: Recent calls for proposals in the field of NMBP are open
On 2 July 2019, the European Commission has opened the latest calls for nanotechnology, materials, biotechnology and manufacturing (NMBP) under Horizon 2020. The funding budget is approx. EUR 628 million - the highest budget ever.
The submission of applications is possible for some topics starting 2 July 2019 through the Funding & Tenders Portal. For the two-stage calls, the deadline for the first stage (pre-proposal) ends on 12 Dec 2019, the deadline for the second stage (full proposal) ends on 14 May 2020. The deadline for topics in the one-stage procedure ends on 5 February 2020; the submission deadline for topic BIOTEC-08-2020 (RIA; one-stage) ends on 15 April 2020.
Furthermore, the NMBP programme makes a thematic and financial contribution to the work programme Part 20 "Cross-cutting activities". Under the reference "H2020-Low-Carbon-Circular-Industries", the following five topics from the field of NMBP will be open:
- CE-NMBP-41-2020: ERA-NET on materials, supporting the circular economy and sustainable development goals
- CE-NMBP-42-2020: Materials life cycle sustainability analysis (RIA)
- CE-SPIRE-01-2020: Tapping into the potential of Industrial Symbiosis (IA)
- CE-SPIRE-07-2020: Preserving fresh water: recycling industrial waters industry (IA)
- CE-SPIRE-09-2020: Alternative mineral resources for high volume production (IA)
The submission of project proposals is possible from 3 July 2019. The procedure is one-stage and the deadline for submission of proposals is 5 February 2020. Approximately EUR 114 million from the NMBP programme is available for these topics.
