Innovative Health Initiative announces first calls!
The Innovative Health Initiative (IHI) is a newly established public-private partnership between the European Commission and industry associations in the healthcare sector within the framework of Horizon Europe. It focuses on the promotion of health research and innovation. IHI follows the Innovative Medicines Initiative 2 (IMI2), but its scope is much broader. Industry associations participating in IHI include EFPIA (pharmaceutical companies), COCIR (imaging, radiotherapy, ICT and electromedicine companies), MedTechEurope (medical technology companies), EuropaBio (biotechnology companies) and VaccinesEurope (vaccine companies).
The first calls for proposals are scheduled to be published in mid-June 2022. A draft for this is already available on the IHI pages. The following topics are planned for it:
IHI – call 1 (single stage)
- An innovative decision-support system for improved care pathways for patients with neurodegenerative diseases and comorbidities
- Next generation imaging and image-guided diagnosis and therapy for cancer
- Personalised oncology: Innovative people-centred, multi-modal therapies against cancer
- Access and integration of heterogeneous health data for improved health care in diseases areas of high unmet public health need
IHI – call 2 (two stage)
- Cardiovascular diseases – improved prediction, prevention, diagnosis and monitoring
- Setting a harmonised methodology to promote uptake of early feasibility studies for clinical and innovation excellence in the European Union
On June 14, 2022, IHI invites you to a hybrid launch event. The preliminary agenda includes the presentation of the calls for proposals but also time for networking and partner identification. Participation in the event is free of charge. Registration will be available shortly.
